The Oscars 2024 probably looked a little different than Margot Robbie had hoped for. After being snubbed for her portrayal as Barbie in the Best Actress category, Margot took to the red carpet wearing black (in mourning of the recognition she ought to have been given, perhaps). Even so, she looked every bit the leading lady.
Taking things back closer to her characteristic relaxed style – after dropping the pink and polish of her Barbie beauty press run – Margot opted for loose, mussy waves, created by her hair stylist, Bryce Scarlett and a ‘spun with gold’ hair colour, created by her colourist, Jacob Schwartz, who noted: “I am so honoured to have worked with Margot for this amazing Barbie press run, culminating with tonight’s Oscars. I continued to use the same formula as the Golden Globes using my Spun with Gold technique to create her signature sparkling blonde.” He called on Schwarzkopf’s Igora Vibrance hair colour to create the look, which he reckons “always delivers an Oscar’s performance with their unparalleled colour deposit”

As for her makeup, Margot switched out Barbie pink tones for some earthier grown-up nudes across her lips and cheeks. Luckily, her long-time mua, Pati Dubroff, was on hand on Instagram with all the details. She shared swatches of the products she used to create Margot’s look, which means we know the exact lipstick shade used was Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet in Intemporelle. The luminous matte gives a natural soft finish, while the brown-toned pink felt glamorous but casual.
