Streaming this week on 7plus: Surfing, motorsport, NTFL Grand Final

Reigning Bells Beach champions Ethan Ewing and Tyler Wright are the remaining Aussies in contention at the Rip Curl Pro Portugal as Finals Day approaches.

Two-time championship tour winner Ewing must face Morocco’s Ramzi Boukhiam in the men’s quarterfinal while two-time world champion Wright is one step away from the women’s final as she takes on Tatina Weston-Webb from Brazil in the semifinal.

The Aussies have flourished recently in the World Surf League after Jack Robionson and Molly Picklum took out the men’s and women’s titles at the Hurley Pro Sunset Beach in Hawaii last month.

The Australian leg of the Championship Tour begins later this month with the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach followed by the Western Australia Margaret River Pro.

The Shannons SpeedSeries returns for the second event of 2024 with Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains.

The TCR Australia Series, Trans Am Series and more contest the weekend with exciting racing set to unfold at the nimble short track.

Reigning Trans Am champion James Moffat continues his dominance after sweeping all three races in Sandown. The Team Valvoline GRM driver has 140 points to his name with a lead of 50 over Elliot Cleary.

Coverage gets underway on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am AEDT on 7plus with live coverage on 7mate from 2pm AEDT on both days.

The Nightcliff Tigers and St Mary’s are set to battle it out for the Northern Territory’s biggest football prize in the NTFL grand final on Saturday night.

Both sides finished the regular season in first and second position on the ladder. St Mary’s claimed the minor premiership with 13 wins from their 16 matches.

Despite being the highest seed in the finals series, St Mary’s had to take the long way to the grand final after losing to the Tigers by 11 points in the second semi-final.

The win allowed the Tigers to advance straight to the decider, earning a week off, while St Mary’s had to face Southern Districts for the remaining spot.

St Mary’s are the most successful club in the NTFL’s history with a total of 33 premierships, the last coming in 2021/22. Nightcliff won their sixth premiership in the 2020/21 grand final.

Seven’s Horse Racing coverage is headlined by the All-Star Mile at Caulfield Racecourse.

Meanwhile, it’s Chandon Ladies Day at Rosehill Gardens where the fillies and mares will battle it out in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic over 1500m.
