SS Rajamouli praised the Malayali film Premalu after Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu heaped praises on the film.
The Malayali blockbuster Premalu is a romantic comedy directed by Girish A. D. and stars Naslen Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in lead roles. The film, which released on February 9, went on to become a blockbuster.
Rajamouli’s son Karthikeya acquired the Telugu distribution rights for the film. Rajamouli, who admitted to not being a fan of romantic-comedies, really liked the film and praised and the actors.
The Baahubali director said that the movie is meant to be watched in theatres with people in the audience who are laughing next to you. He said, “It is with jealousy and pain that I admit the Malayalam film industry produces better actors. In this film too, they did a fantastic job,” and praised Mamitha Baiju’s acting, comparing her to Sai Pallavi.
Mahesh Babu also took to social media to praise the film. He wrote, “Thank you @ssk1122 for bringing #Premalu to the Telugu audience… Thoroughly enjoyed it…. Can’t remember the last time when I laughed so much while watching a film… The entire family loved it Top class acting by all the youngsters Congratulations to the entire team!!”
Premalu, which crossed the 100 crore mark, became the fifth highest-grossing Malayali movie.
