Ryan Gosling’s not just Ken, he’s also Dad. And no matter how much fun Dad is having at the Oscars 2024, those kids need to be tucked in, as Gosling’s longtime partner, Eva Mendes, reminded him.
Mendes, who hung back from the ceremony Sunday night and showed her support for the Barbie best supporting actor nominee on social media while Gosling attended the ceremony with his mom and sister, shared a post on Instagram wearing Gosling’s hot pink bedazzled suit jacket and reminding the actor of curfew.

“You took Ken all the way to the Oscar’s, RG,” she captioned the photo. “Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed.”
Gosling, surrounded by a gaggle of fellow Kens including Simu Liu and Scott Evans, blew the roof off the Dolby Auditorium during the Oscars with his high-Kenergy performance of best original song nominee “I’m Just Ken.” The costumes and set design were an homage to “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” Martin Scorsese enjoyed the hell out of himself, and Emma Stone sang so hard in her karaoke cameo that she split the zipper on the back of her custom Louis Vuitton gown, a fact that she called out immediately upon taking the stage to accept the award for best actress.
“Oh boy, my dress is broken,” she said when she reached the mic. “I think it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken.’ I’m pretty sure.”
Don’t worry, she was quickly sewn back into the gown backstage.
Gosling and Mendes share two young daughters, Amada and Esmeralda. Last summer, Mendes shared some extremely relatable thoughts on motherhood, revealing herself as “just a chauffeur, like a water girl,” to the couple’s kids. “It’s hot, so you know, I just bring them water.” She is also their self-proclaimed “wiper-downer.”
“I wipe them down because they’re all sweaty all over each other.”
The two met on the set of 2012’s The Place Beyond the Pines. Though Gosling and Mendes do not typically walk together on red carpets, Mendes has consistently used her social media to publicly support Gosling.
