During the Oscars on Sunday, Jimmy Kimmel made a joke about Emma Stone‘s nominated film Poor Things, which she did not seem amused by. The actress, known for her roles in various films, including Poor Things, was not amused by Kimmel’s humor.

As the host for the fourth time, Kimmel joked about the sexually explicit comedy-drama after a few clips were shown during the ceremony. “Those were all the parts of Poor Things we’re allowed to show on TV,” he said.

During the broadcast, the camera switched to Stone’s seat in the audience. She appeared to be irritated by the joke and was seen mouthing a word that viewers on social media speculated to be “prick.” However, it was not entirely clear what she said or if she was genuinely annoyed. As Stone is known for her sarcastic humor, it is possible that she was simply playing along and making her own jokes.

During the Oscars 2024, Emma Stone faced a minor wardrobe malfunction while accepting the Best Actress award. However, she had the last laugh as she won for her portrayal of Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos‘ feminist coming-of-age movie. As she went on stage, Stone disclosed that the zipper on the back of her dress had split.

According to Stone, her dress was broken. She then joked that she may have torn it while singing along to her La La Land co-star Ryan Gosling‘s musical performance earlier in the ceremony, specifically during the song “I’m Just Ken.“

After concluding her speech, she turned and headed off the stage, warning, “Don’t look at the back of my dress!”
