It’s hard to think of a professional wrestler more beloved than The Undertaker.
After a 33-year career, the Phenom, whose real name is Mark Calloway, has remained one of the most popular and respected wrestlers in the history of the prevention.
Undertaker retired in 2020 and has made sporadic appearances for WWE since. Most recently, he was seen giving Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson a choke slam to help Cody Rhodes win the WWE Championship.
Despite being retired for years, fans are clamoring for the Undertaker to rise from the dead. And there’s a chance we may just get that.
During an episode of his podcast, “Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway,” the Undertaker’s former tag team partner/rival/brother Kane came on as a guest to discuss his career.
Naturally, the topic of the two reuniting as the Brothers of Destruction came up, and Undertaker revealed that he’d only come back for a rematch against Shawn Michaels and Triple H, also known as D-Generation X.
While this seems like a dream match for fans of the Attitude Era, their last match at Crown Jewel in 2018 was a disaster. And that’s putting it kindly.
Many fans look back on the match with disdain. Not only was the match filled with mistakes, but it also had Triple H tear his pectoral muscle and had Michaels come out of retirement despite having the perfect send-off during WrestleMania 26.
Needless to say, the match is notorious, And The Undertaker wants to see if they could “top how bad it was.”
“You would think all the experience that was involved in that match that we could have done that in our sleep,” Undertaker said. “That may be the only match if we did it again that I would come out of retirement for.
“Just to see if we could top how bad it was the first time we did it. A man lost his pec, man lost his pride, man lost his mask.”
Kane then revealed that it was a dream match for him at one point, but now he never wants to do it again.
While both WWE legends had highly successful singles careers, The Brothers of Destruction felt like a unique attraction compared to other tag teams at the time given their size and gimmicks.
Together, Kane and Undertaker won the WWF Tag Team Championship twice and the WCW Tag Team Championship once in order to unite the belts.
