Woman Returns Home To Find An Unexpected Animal On Her Roof

A woman got back home on a Wednesday morning to find her golden retriever stuck on the roof, unable to get back down.

In a video posted on TikTok on Saturday, under the username @alyssathompsn1, the dog can be seen standing on the roof, waving his tail as he sees the woman approaching with her car.

Unable to get down on his own, the poster tried her best to help, but she still didn’t managed to get him off the roof.

“So my roommate came home to my golden on our roof. How does a golden do this?”

After unsuccessfully trying for a while the poster decided to call for help, and firefighters immediately showed up to the scene and took the dog to safety.

“After so much drama (literally acting dead) Our local fire department came to the rescue. Chase would like to say thank you to the firemen that showed up to his rescue.”

A caption shared along with the clip says: “Chase is thankful to be back on the ground to say the least.. But I think he enjoyed the view. THANK YOU again to the firefighters who came and got him.”

In an article from 2021, WebMD explained that dogs have an intelligence similar to that of a toddler, and on average can learn and recognize between 100 and 200 words. So don’t be surprised when your dog remembers words like “bone” or “snack.”

Our pups are so clever that they can even do math. The American Kennel Club (AKC), explains that dogs can do more than simple counting. In fact, they can also do simple addition and subtraction.

“The ability to count and do simple arithmetic might seem to be a superfluous skill for dogs, but it is a useful ability,” the AKC wrote on its website. “For example, it is necessary for a female to know if all of her pups are present or if one of them had somehow gone astray and requires a search-and-rescue mission to be launched.”

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.1 million views and 144,100 likes on the platform.

One user, Weratedogs, commented: “He’s just up there like ‘OH HI MOM! you should see the view from up here.”

Kennedy said: “That roof picture with the tongue out would be my wallpaper forever.”

Tristan Henry wrote: “Golden retrievers and orange cats have to share some form of dna.”

Allyson Bird added: “My brother is a firefighter and I can bet without a doubt this call was these guys’ favorite of the day.”
