Woman Attempts To Go to the Bathroom Alone, Her Dog Has Other Ideas

A dog refusing to give his owner a moment of peace, even when she goes to the bathroom, has left the internet hysterical.

Kenny, an adorable Maltese, made his way into the restroom while his owner, Amanda Breitt (@amandabreittt), was using the toilet. The heartwarming footage quickly went viral, racking up 2.1 million views and 514,400 likes from people around the world.

“No privacy in this house,” Amanda wrote in the video’s text overlay. In the caption, she added: “It’s okay because he’s just a baby.”

The video captures the little white pooch skillfully squeezing his way through the bathroom door, using his head to maneuver his tiny body inside.

Amanda’s giggles can be heard as Kenny proudly asserts himself in the bathroom, determined to stay close to his human.

Maltese dogs like Kenny are known for their affectionate and playful nature, often forming strong bonds with their owners, according to the American Kennel Club.

This breed, with its fluffy white coat and expressive eyes, thrives on companionship and tends to follow their favorite person everywhere, as they crave constant attention and closeness.

Dogs following their owners into the bathroom is a common behavior that can be traced back to several instinctual and psychological factors, according to pet writer, Victoria Arnold, who wrote about the tendency in her article for rover.com.

One reason is that dogs are pack animals by nature, and they see their owners as the leaders of their pack. In the wild, members of a pack stick together to protect each other, so your dog following you to the bathroom is a sign of loyalty and a way to keep the “pack” together.

Additionally, dogs are creatures of habit and often mirror their owners’ routines.

If they see you heading to the bathroom, they might simply be curious about what you’re doing and want to be involved.

Dogs are also incredibly social animals, and they may follow you because they don’t want to be left alone, even for a moment. This behavior can be a sign of separation anxiety, where the dog feels anxious or stressed when they are not in the same room as their owner.

Viewers of the video couldn’t get enough of Kenny’s antics, with many sharing similar experiences.

“My Maltese does the same thing,” one viewer commented.

“He said it smells, but I love you,” joked another.

“The way he pushes the door with his face and not his paw,” remarked a user named Kyota.

“I’m obsessed with Kenny. Don’t tell my dog,” added Amy.

“A fluffy cloud enters,” another viewer humorously described.

“My doggy does this, and if the door is fully closed, she will literally scratch it and huff under the door until I let her in,” shared another TikToker.

Newsweek reached out to Amanda Breitt for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.
