In anticipation of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the Williams F1 Team has unveiled a stunning, one-off livery, designed in collaboration with cybersecurity firm, Keeper Security. This special livery pays homage to the vibrant, electric atmosphere of Las Vegas, a city synonymous with nightlife and neon lights.
Set against the backdrop of one of Formula 1’s most glamorous race locations, the Grove outfit hopes this striking design will capture the attention of fans.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix, which joined the Formula 1 calendar only last year in 2023, presents an ideal stage for such a reveal. Running through the city’s iconic skyline, with parts of the track skirting the famous Las Vegas Strip, it naturally lends itself to bold visual statements.
The race is a nighttime spectacle, ensuring the bright theme of the Williams livery will be expertly showcased amid the already vibrant city. With a track length of 6.12 kilometers, illuminated by the glittering glow of Las Vegas, the Grand Prix offers teams the ultimate stage for showing off a brand-new paint job.
The design integrates the iconic Williams’ championship yellow, complemented by the blue hues of the Williams brand.
James Bower, Williams Racing’s Commercial Director, said the following in a press release sent to Newsweek.
“Keeper Security joined our mission to return to the front of the grid earlier this year, and since then, our partnership has gone from strength to strength. This striking Las Vegas engine cover takeover will showcase our joint values of innovation and speed, which are vital to both cybersecurity and on-track performance,” he said.
Despite being ninth in the Constructors’ Championship, Williams remains optimistic about their trajectory. Recent performances, such as those at São Paulo, have made this a difficult season, including Alex Albon’s unfortunate crash during qualifying. However, changes under Team Principal James Vowles are underway, aimed at bolstering the team’s performance through long-term improvements. Franco Colapinto’s inclusion as a replacement for Logan Sargeant is seen as a promising development.
In addition, the reinforced collaboration with historical partners like Komatsu, known for their past contributions to Williams’ successes, further bolsters the team’s foundations for growth.
The livery launch dovetails with a planned activation in Las Vegas, set to engage local fans and foster community engagement. We’ll be able to bring you the latest from Sin City itself.
Williams Racing is set to host its 2024 Fan Zone in Las Vegas from November 18th to 23rd, coinciding with the race weekend. Located at the Brooklyn Bridge on the Las Vegas Strip, the event offers fans a chance to engage with the team through activities like Q&A sessions featuring driver Franco Colapinto, 2009 World Champion Jenson Button, and Team Principal James Vowles. Visitors can also try esports simulators, see the FW46 show car, explore partner exhibits, and shop for exclusive merchandise.
