Bruins captain Brad Marchand has scored a lot of goals in his 16 seasons with the Boston Bruins.
His 12th goal of the season came in the second period of Boston’s game against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night, and it was absolutely filthy as it came on a penalty.
The feisty forward moved the puck forehand to backhand for a sneaky five-hole goal to get the Bruins within a goal midway through the middle frame.
The Bruins were given a penalty shot when Johnny Beecher sent a snap shot in on Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer, who made the initial save. As the Bruins collapsed in the front of the crease in an attempt to gather the rebound, Seattle defenseman Brandon Montour jumped on the puck.
After a quick review, the referees determined the puck did not fully cross the goal line and awarded the Bruins a penalty shot as a result.

Seattle got out to a quick lead in the game, tallying two goals in the first five minutes of the opening frame. Marchand cut the lead in half with his 413th career goal. Oliver Bjorkstrand opened the scoring for the Kraken on the power play, with David Pastrnak sitting in the box on a four-minute double minor for high-sticking Jamie Oleksiak.
