A cat’s unusual demand mimicking what a baby goes through has left people both cracking up and melting over the cuteness.
The Wilkerson parents are experts in changing diapers after welcoming their baby home, but they were thrown into a loop when their fur baby started demanding the same thing.
Their orange cat, Oliver, saw the baby getting special attention while on the changing station and his jealousy crept in, along with his curiosity. If the baby was getting a diaper change then he wanted one too.
Ever since the cat figured out he could get their eyes focused on him while he lay on the changing station, he’s never looked back. He demands to get his diaper changed just like the baby. He doesn’t want his parents to forget he’s still their fur baby.
In a September 27 Instagram video, posted under the account @livviewilkerson, Oliver once again “insists” on getting a diaper change. Following his wishes, the dad is at the changing station with him, going through all the steps. The dad even goes as far as getting out a diaper and acts as if he’s putting it on.
Oliver stayed still for the most part, however, like babies, he wiggled around here and there. His eyes wandered around, curious about what his dad was doing for the next step. He needed to monitor whether he was getting the same treatment as the baby or not.

Oliver’s hilarious, yet unexpected, demand will happen quite frequently, owner Olivia Wilkerson told Newsweek via Instagram.
“He is always sleeping in her bassinet whenever she isn’t in it, and he demands diaper changes periodically,” she said. “He totally thinks that he’s the baby!”
His behavior further proves cats do get jealous. After living with all the attention on him, Oliver needed to learn to share it when the baby came around. That meant going to where his parents spent time with her and seeing it has worked, he cracked the code and has no plans on stopping anytime soon.
Viewers couldn’t get enough of this cat’s silly demand and as of Thursday, the clip brought in over 307,000 views, 16,638 likes and 127 comments on Instagram.
“OK all the green flags!! He’s so sweet to pretend to change the fur baby’s diaper,” said an Instagram user.
Another added: “Omg this awesome. Perfect time to take advantage and give the kitty a clean.”
A third person pointed out: “The things we do for our pets.” It’s their world and we’re just living in it.
