The new and improved Supercentre store has a number of new features, including digital touch points and upgraded displays, according to a report in the Scioto Valley Guardian.

This is alongside a bigger infant area, an updated clothing department, and an improved electronics section.

Its newly revamped site in Chillicothe has four major changes.

For starters, the store has new active corners, which let customers touch and feel the products on offer.

These can be found in corners of certain departments at the new store.

Up next, customers can also expect to see new digital touchpoints located across the store.

These help show shoppers the services and products Walmart offers online via QR codes and digital screens.

For example, the outlet said in Walmart’s Pets area, a customer may scan the QR code to find additional dog bed options, learn about Walmart’s pet insurance service options or have a 20-pound bag of kibble delivered to their door.

Departments have also gotten a revamp, with products now to be displayed outside of their boxes so customers can get a clearer picture of how the product would feature in their home.

Finally, the retailer has created more space for customers so they can around the store comfortably.

Elsewhere, the retailer has said the store will feature Walmart Pay, which lets shoppers make payments in-store using their phone.

It’s very similar to Apple Pay, but Walmart does not offer this feature in stores.

Pick-up and delivery services will also be available at the Ohio store.

It forms part of the shopping giant’s “Store of the Future” concept, which was revealed by Walmart’s chief executive John Furner in January.

The boss of Walmart has plans to remodel 650 stores across 47 states and Puerto Rico – creating tens of thousands of jobs supporting these projects.

New stores will feature improved layouts, expanded product selections and innovative technology to help make shopping more convenient for customers.

John Furner, chief executive of Walmart, said: these new facilities will be designed with sustainability in mind, including more energy-efficient equipment and lighting, lower impact refrigerants and more.

“We’re also working on developing a coast-to-coast network of affordable electric vehicle fast-charging stations we hope will make EV ownership a more convenient and accessible choice for Walmart shoppers and associates.”

Why doesn’t Walmart offer Apple Pay?

CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon has revealed why stores don’t offer Apple Pay on Stratechery with Ben Thompson.

Though using Apple Pay at the retailer has been an ongoing conversation, McMillon emphasized that “We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time.”

The app can be used to help find items in the store, but it can also be used to pay for your purchases.

“That’s one of the things that we would like people to use our app for,” he said.
