Summer is almost upon us, which, if you’re a logical, patient person like me, you know that means that it’s basically Halloween. Not like I’m counting or anything, but we’re officially 147 days away from the best, spookiest day of the year. And I, personally, will be holding onto that fact as I try not to melt in this June heat.
Speaking of Halloween, Universal Studios is giving us spooky enthusiasts something to look forward to this year: a new Halloween Horror Nights haunted house!
So, without further ado, the new haunted house they’ll have at Halloween Horror Nights 2024 is…(drumroll, please)….
The haunted house will take inspiration from both A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II, but not its upcoming prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One. The maze will take its victims — I mean, uh, travelers — through the Abbott family’s farmhouse shelter and right into the root cellar where Evelyn gave birth…and where, perhaps, a Death Angel was closing in on her.
Utilizing the same eerie silence and mounting suspense as the films, the Horror Nights maze will also be predominantly silent, utilizing American Sign Language and “unique sound design, special effects and the adept performances of the scareactors to convey the ominous sense of dread depicted in the films,” per a press release. So, better hope you don’t scream! Because if you do…they will hunt you.
In addition to A Quiet Place, fans can expect several more brand-new haunted houses to be announced within the coming months, with eight total in Hollywood and 10 total in Orlando. Any guesses what those might be?
Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights begins Friday, August 30 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 5 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Tickets for both Orlando and Hollywood are available now…if you think you’re brave enough.
