There has been a sickening incident during an under-17 grand final in Adelaide that resulted in a player being flown to hospital.
In an ugly game between Angle Vale and Two Wells, 17-year-old Angle Vale player Henry Nau was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital by a MedSTAR emergency medical retrieval helicopter and is now in an induced coma.
Spectators at the game have described the grand final — which was played at Hamley Bridge Oval (about 65km north of Adelaide) —as violent, and there were reportedly several yellow and red cards handed to players.

Adelaide Plains Football League president Michael Vigor said an investigation would be conducted after Angdle Vale lodges an official report.
“At this stage we don’t whether it was a hit or accidental. We’re not sure,” Vigor said.
There have been suggestions that Nau was king hit just before half-time.
It is also unclear if Nau had been dazed by a previous head knock and went back onto the field.
The game was delayed for almost an hour after Nau collapsed.
“(He) came off and he was a bit dazed and then I’m not sure … then he just collapsed afterwards,” Nau’s teammate Jack Pessano said.
“It’s very scary. Knowing that could happen to one of my great mates who I play footy with, it’s very scary.”
A spectator described the match as “aggressive” and said “punches thrown”.
Two Wells won the game 11.9 (75) to 6.8 (44).
It has been reported that Nau’s CAT scans are showing positive signs at this stage.
