Former President Donald Trump rode in a garbage truck ahead of his rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Wednesday in a dig to President Joe Biden.
Biden sent MAGA into a frenzy this week when he appeared to refer to Trump’s supporters as “garbage.”
“How do you like my garbage truck?” Trump told reporters as he sat in the passenger seat of a white truck emblazoned with the Trump 2024 campaign logo. “This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”
According to a clip aired on CNN of a virtual call on Tuesday night, Biden said, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American.”
The White House then released a statement Tuesday evening seeking to clarify Biden’s comments.
“The President referred to the hateful rhetoric at the Madison Square Garden rally as garbage,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said.
He also provided a White House transcript of the call, which quoted Biden as saying that Puerto Ricans “in my home state of Delaware, they’re good, decent, honorable people. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s — his — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American. It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.”
Harris weighed in on Biden’s comments Wednesday morning, saying she “strongly” disagrees with criticizing people based on their politics or who they vote for.
