TRAVIS Kelce thinks his relationship with Taylor Swift bay backfire on him in the future.
Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated this season, but he thinks his relationship could be ammunition if that changes.
NFL fans are already split on Kelces relationship with Taylor Swift. Some love it and some are tired of it.
Most Chiefs fans enjoy seeing them together, especially because the team has performed very well with Swift around.
However, if some losses start to come in, Kelce thinks his relationship will be used against him by fans.
“We’ve just got to keep winning,” Kelce said on the New Heights podcast.
“If we lose, it’s going to absolutely f***ing rain down, baby. Just got to keep winning and staying on top.”
While Kelce was pessimistic about his relationship, the guest on his podcast felt otherwise.
ESPN personality Pat McAfee appeared on New Heights and shared that he thinks Kelce and Swift’s romance can only be good for the NFL.
“You and Taylor’s relationship is great for the sport,” McAfee said.
“It’s getting introduced to so many new people.
“You are and have been the perfect representation for our sport too. I think there’s not other person who could do what you’re doing right now and how you’re doing it.
“It is awesome and all of us are incredibly proud of you.”
Kelce already came under fire for a slow start to the 2024 season. Through three games he had only 69 yards, but he has started to perform recently.
The tight end now has 228 yards through the first five games of the Chiefs’ season, but hasn’t found the end zone yet.
Kelce and his teammates haven’t been worried about his statistical struggles though, and are just focused on winning games.
“It’s crazy because the respect factor teams have for Travis is unreal, and it’s well-deserved,” Patrick Mahomes said.
‘Well-talked-about personal life’
Travis Kelce was asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift during an interview with Good Morning America.
But the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gave a cagey response.
“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier,” Kelce told GMA.
“I’ve always been a very grounded guy. It might not come off that way when I’m playing football.
“But off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to get too far down the road.
“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”
“We’re calling a lot of plays for Travis and it’s like two or three [defenders] are going to him.
“That’s the great thing about him is he wants to make an impact on the game but he wants to win at the end of the day.
“I’m going to do my best to keep feeding him the ball whenever he’s there, whenever he’s open.
“I think the more Rashee [Rice] makes plays, the more we’re able to run the football, the more we can get [Xavier] Worthy involved, I think that’s going to open Travis up more.
“People are really emphasizing taking him away and that’s getting other guys open.”
