TOM Brady hit back at Eli Manning on social media after the former New York Giants star mocked his recent boat picture.
Brady, 47, uploaded a picture of himself holding a fish aboard a boat yesterday.
The quarterback-turned-Fox Sports analyst captioned his post, “A little warmer than it looked in Buffalo last night.”
Brady’s shirtless snap quickly received nearly 300,000 likes on Instagram.
But Manning, 43, cheekily poked fun at the picture.
Taking to his X account, the former Giants quarterback posted Brady’s snap side-by-side with one of himself aboard a boat clutching a far bigger fish.
He captioned his post, “Cute Minnow, Tom!”
Brady quickly hit back at Manning with a reference to Super Bowl XLII.
“You use a helmet to catch that one too?” he asked while quote-posting Manning’s upload.
Brady’s comeback was in reference to when his New England Patriots lost 17-14 to Manning’s Giants at Super Bowl XLII in 2008.
The Patriots had gone undefeated that season, and led 7-3 going into the fourth quarter.
But Manning’s Giants came roaring back late on, with David Tyree’s infamous “Helmet Catch” at the heart of their comeback.
During the crucial play, Manning freed himself from the Patriots defence before launching a pass towards Tyree.
The wide receiver somehow leapt to catch it, using his helmet to do so.
The 32-yard gain from this pass went on to lead to the Giants’ game-winning touchdown.
Manning would then defeat Brady again at Super Bowl XLVI four years later.
‘BALANCE TO THE FORCE’
Fans loved the pair’s social media interaction, with one responding to Manning’s post, “Eli Manning might exist in this dimension for the sole purpose of not giving Tom Brady too much power. He brings balance to the force.”
While a second joked, “Big bro to Tom forever.”
Others enjoyed Brady’s comeback, with one writing, “This is content we need on X!”
A second concurred, “Love the smack talk Tom.”
Brady is now in year one of his 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox Sports.
He was absent from last Sunday’s show, with Greg Olsen stepping in after Brady had worked on Thanksgiving.
