Many experts and analysts have compared Williams to Patrick Mahomes as he continually makes what seem like impossible plays.

“One of the biggest comparisons we have been making is Caleb Williams looking a lot like Patrick Mahomes and rightfully so,” Te’o said.

“But I’m watching this young man do what he does, I’m watching him scramble around and make all of these incredible passes, and I start thinking ‘he kind of looks like someone else that I’m familiar with.'”

Te’o understood that way of thinking, but felt that Williams looked like someone else to him.

He went outside of the sport of football to make his comparison, drawing a comparison between Williams and NBA legend Steph Curry.

“I’m watching him against the Cincinnati Bengals and I see the mouthpiece,” Te’o said.

“When I see the mouthpiece in the corner of his mouth I’m like ‘that’s it! It’s mister night night himself, Steph Curry.'”

After making the comparison with the mouthpieces, Te’o explained how he sees similarities between their games.

“I think about all the times that he’s running around, he’s scrambling, he’s stepping up in the pocket, he’s spinning out, he’s extending plays,” Te’o said.

“I’m like, ‘that’s Steph trying to get open.’ One of Steph’s greatest attributes is his ability to get open.”

The biggest comparison Te’o saw between the two stars was their confidence in themselves.

“The thing I love the most about Steph is his quiet confidence,” Te’o said.

“He’s having fun, he’s doing his shimmy, he’s shooting the three-point ball and turning around towards the fans before the ball even goes in the net.

“It reminds me of Caleb Williams and his ability to make very difficult things look easy.”

NFL and NBA fans weren’t quite convinced by Te’os comparison, and shared their displeasure for the take.
