Ever wondered what happens when things go a bit sideways on a TV set? Well, Meghann Fahy‘s recent chat on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon gave us a peek behind the curtain, and it’s as endearing as it is eye-opening.
Picture this: You’re filming a pivotal scene for a hit show like The White Lotus, and oops! You accidentally kick your co-star in the face. Sounds like a nightmare, right? But when that co-star is the ever-gracious Jennifer Coolidge, it becomes a heartwarming story of understanding and professionalism.
Fahy, who stars in the new series The Perfect Couple, couldn’t help but draw parallels between her new show and The White Lotus. Both involve bodies washing ashore, but it’s the behind-the-scenes story that really caught our attention.
Remember that scene where Fahy’s character, Daphne, discovers Tanya’s body floating in the ocean? Well, it wasn’t all smooth sailing (pun intended). Fahy shared, “She did a lot of actually floating down in water. And when we were shooting it, I did actually kick her in the face at one point. I felt so bad. They wanted to get a shot under the water of my foot making contact with her body, but I couldn’t see where her body was. So she was just like, floating, waiting for my foot to like enter her general space.”
Now, imagine being in Fahy’s shoes (or should we say, flippers?). You’ve just accidentally kicked Hollywood royalty in the face. Panic time, right? But Coolidge’s response was nothing short of amazing. Fahy recalled, “She came up out of the water and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry.’ And she was like, ‘Hey, man. You got to just go for it. Don’t worry about me.’”
As Fallon rightly pointed out, “That is a professional.”
