TERRY Bradshaw thinks that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has lost the trust of his team.
Richardson checked himself out of a Colts game in Week 8, and was promptly benched afterwards.
Many fans and analysts thought Richardson was hurt when he came out of the game, but in fact he was just tired.
He confirmed that to reporters after the game by admitting he needed a rest.
“Tired, I ain’t gonna lie,” Richardson said after the game.
“That was a lot of running right there that I did… So, I just told Shane [Steichen] I needed a break right there.”
Richardson was promptly benched after this decision, and veteran Joe Flacco has since taken over at quarterback for the Colts.
After this controversy, Terry Bradshaw chimed in to give his opinion, saying it was “immature.”
“Hello America, TB here,” Bradshaw said.
“Two things any quarterback has to have at high school, college, it doesn’t matter: trust and respect from all the offensive people.
“When Anthony Richardson took himself out of the game, it wasn’t a malicious decision on his part, it was an immature decision.”
Bradshaw referenced that Richardson has little time as a starting quarterback under his belt, and still doesn’t know how to lead the team.
“He’s only started 23 games counting college going into the pros and he missed four games,” Bradshaw continued.
“Horrible mistake, he will learn from this. I don’t want this to bury him, he’ll rise from this.”
While Bradshaw agreed that it was the right decision to bench Richardson, he also made sure to say
“He’ll sit, he’ll learn from this, and he’ll never make that mistake again,” Bradshaw said.
NFL fans were not as forgiving as Bradshaw, and made it known how they felt about Richardson on social media.
