Kah will now need to find another ride for the 3200m Group 1 handicap at Flemington.
It also means owner Lloyd Williams is without horse for the race and won’t be securing a record eighth Cup victory.
Point King is trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman and was considered a top chance for the Cup, and was going to be carrying a light weight (50.5kg).
The Archer Stakes winner (a Group 3 race at Flemington) also finished second in the Bart Cummings (2500m) at the start of October.
Williams and James Packer also co-own Point King.
