A TARGET shopper has urged other customers to check their receipts after they caught the chain retailer overcharging them.

Posting on social media site Facebook, Holly Barlett warned others to “double check” their receipts after she was overcharged three times in a single day.

Frustrated, Holly took to the Sierra Vista Community Page to share what happened.

She said: “If you shop at Target, please double check your receipts.

“For the past 2 years, I’ve been overcharged regularly, to the point that I rarely shop there any more.

“Today it happened again on 3 items. I caught one at the register and had them change it, but I had to go to customer service to fix the other two.

“I normally have to go to customer service to have them refund me for at least one thing on every trip I make to Target.

“It isn’t large amounts, but it adds up, and if they are doing this to every customer, it’s a lot of money.

“I’ve talked to them every time and let them know this is an ongoing problem and they need to fix it, but nothing has changed. I finally wrote to corporate today and hope it gets resolved.”

In the comment section, other frustrated shoppers also revealed they had been overcharged at the Arizona Target store.

One person commented: “Also, multiple times I’ve had things with clearance tags on them ring up at full price at the Sierra Vista Target.

“Sometimes they’ll price correct, others they’ve told me it’s full price.”

Another said: “I’ve had that happen to me on clearance items there and had to tell them the correct price and they did change it.

“Also helps to have the app up and just show it to them.”

“Meanwhile, a third person said it happened at Walmart too, saying: “I stopped shopping at Walmart for the same reason.

“The other reason is that you can find the same item in two different departments, ie. batteries in jewellery and batteries in electronics at two different prices.”

It follows after another Target shopper vowed to boycott the chain after claiming she was blocked from checking out her groceries.

The customer, who went to a store in New Britain, Connecticut, even claimed the brand had lost a customer following the less-than-ideal experience.

Shelly Sindlan said she had been waiting in line for 15 minutes before a worker approached her, according to a post on X.

She claimed that she was told she couldn’t scan her items as it was an express lane.

Sindlan had to wait in another line, but there was only one lane open.

“You just lost a good customer,” she said.

Sindlan vowed to spend her money elsewhere, rounding off her post with: “Bye, bye Target.”

So-called express lanes have been rolled out at almost 2,000 Target stores recently.

The lanes were introduced after a trial period at around 200 stores in the fall of 2023.

Policies that limited self-checkout users to a maximum of 10 items were introduced, but bosses confirmed there would be extra traditional self-checkout lanes.
