Shocking Bryce Young Stat Shows Panthers May Have Made Mistake Drafting Him

The Carolina Panthers may be one of the hardest teams to watch early on in this NFL season. After a bad loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the Panthers are now 0-2 on the season, and calls for starting quarterback Byrce Young to be benched have started.

The former No. 1 overall pick hasn’t performed well at all and his record in games has reflected that. Since Young has taken the field for Carolina, the Panthers have gone 2-17 in his starts. This putrid record shows just how ineffective Young has been during his short time in the NFL.

Against the Chargers, Young threw for 84 yards with zero touchdowns. He and the offense have had no rhythm so far this season and it has made Carolina look extremely out of sorts.

While some won’t go as far as the bust label for Young, at least not yet, his play has been hard to watch. Last season, Young threw for 2,877 yards with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Panthers guard Robert Hunt says that the losses and boos from the fans hurt but that he believes in Young moving forward. Young seemingly still has the support of the locker room

After the game, Young was asked about his struggles and how he can move forward. He said that he is happy to have the challenge of proving people wrong ahead of him.

“I’m grateful for this challenge.”

If Young continues to play this poorly, Carolina may have to bench him. It could be in his best interest to let him sit and learn more before he continues to start.

Veteran Andy Dalton could receive some playing time, if anything to have Young clear his head. The former Alabama product needs to learn how to take what the defense gives him, rather than trying to play hero-ball.

The Panthers mustered up only 159 yards against the Chargers. The team also had nine penalties for 90 yards in the loss.

While the bad start for Carolina isn’t only on Young, he is the leader of the team so he will take the most blame. His NFL career hasn’t gotten off to a great start but there is still time for him to turn things around before it’s too late.
