The “Mercy” singer expressed excitement about his upcoming album and eagerly anticipated performing his new songs live. He also added a heartfelt “eu te amo!!!!”

The 2024 edition of Rock in Rio is set to happen from Friday, September 13 to Sunday, September 22, at Parque Olimpico do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Along with Mendes, other renowned performers such as Katy Perry, Charlie Puth, and Travis Scott will be there.

Shawn Mendes will take the stage at the music festival for the second time in the past year. His previous performance was a duet with Niall Horan on March 1st at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London, during Horan’s The Show: Live on Tour. The duo performed an acoustic rendition of Mendes’ popular track “Treat You Better” from his second album, Illuminate. Additionally, Mendes briefly appeared during Ed Sheeran‘s Mathematics Tour in June 2023.

Shawn Mendes has not embarked on a tour since his highly successful Wonder: The World Tour in 2022. Although the tour began in late June of that year, it was soon delayed for three weeks as Mendes prioritized his mental well-being. Ultimately, Mendes decided to cancel the remaining tour dates to fully focus on his mental health.
