Hollywood moms know a thing or two about birthday shout-outs — and Sarah Michelle Gellar is no exception.
Celebrating her and Freddie Prinze Jr.’s daughter Charlotte’s 15th trip around the sun, the 47-year-old Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum took to Instagram on Thursday, September 15 with a sweet video that captured her teen doing a cartwheel and a backflip with “Happy Birthday” serenading in the background.
The proud mom couldn’t help but gush, captioning it, “We are all jumping and flipping Charlotte because it’s your 15 Birthday!! I don’t know how it’s possible but every year I love you more ❤️ 🎉🎁 🎂.”
After posting to social media, it didn’t take long for the comments section to light up.
“Slayer in training,” quipped one follower, a nod to Gellar’s iconic role.
“Happy Birthday sweetheart! Each day you are becoming such a beautiful woman just like your mom 🫶🏻. Hope you have a wonderful birthday 🎂,” another added.
“I’m confused is this the daughter or Sarah😂❤️,” joked a third.
“Awwww a little glimpse of your big girl Charlotte so kind of you Buffy… Happy Birthday beautiful 🙏🏾🎂🎈,” chimed in another.
The famous parents first crossed paths on the set of the thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997, but it wasn’t until three years later that sparks really flew. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Mexico in 2002, surrounded by family and close friends.
In an interview with Us Weekly in 2019, the Cruel Intentions actress opened up about what makes their marriage so strong. “I think the truth of any relationship is that, whether you’re a couple, whether you’re friends, whether you’re business partners, is you have to put the work into a relationship,” she explained. “We live in a very disposable society and people don’t want to have to work. They want immediate reactions, they want immediate responses. It takes work.”
Gellar and the 48-year-old All That icon welcomed Charlotte into the world on September 19, 2009. The couple expanded their family three years later with the birth of their son, Rocky, in 2012.
