The team of Bacon and Cook came in second behind the Chinese duo of Yani Chang and Yiwen Chen.

The British duo of Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen came in third place.

Bacon, 27, was making her Olympic debut in the event.

She will also compete in the individual, but almost never made it to Paris.

The diver suffered a number of brutal injuries and was told by doctors she might never compete again.

Bacon would’ve retired from diving after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

But she carried on competing after missing out on a spot in that team in heartbreaking fashion.

“I was going into the Tokyo Olympic Trials feeling ready and confident, but other things got in our way of making that team, which was pretty devastating,” Bacon said before the Games.

“Not making the team kept me around diving, and now I am an Olympian. I’m just so excited to be here.”

She has dealt with four back fractures, an Achilles injury, two shoulder surgeries and two concussions.

Doctors told her three years ago she might never be able to dive again.

But she was back with a vengeance in Paris to take silver alongside Cook.

The duo are nicknamed “Team Cook’NBacon” and they delivered early for the American team.

The Paris Olympics officially began Friday with an opening ceremony along the River Seine.

Lady Gaga and Celine Dion performed despite the rain that hammered down on the French capital all evening.

LeBron James and Coco Gauff carried the American flag as the team floated down the river in Paris.
