Sabrina Carpenter is pleased with Barry Keoghan’s acting skills.
On Sunday, October 6, Carpenter, 25, appeared on CBS Sunday Mornings where she discussed the reason she cast Keoghan, 31, in the music video for her hit song “Please Please Please.”
After the interviewer asked why the pop sensation would put the Saltburn lead in the video if she wanted to keep her relationship personal, Carpenter explained he was the perfect actor for the role.
“I, genuinely — like, a not-even-biased opinion — I was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?’ And he was next to me in a chair,” the Girl Meets World alum recounted. “And he was so excited about it!”

In the sultry music video, the Banshees of Inisherin actor and Carpenter play love interests. Keoghan portrays a criminal throughout the video, and in the end, Carpenter handcuffs him and places a piece of duct tape over his mouth — on which she plants her signature red-lipstick kiss.
The “Taste” singer also shared that her boyfriend is a fan of her tunes. “He likes the song, which is great,” Carpenter quipped about Keoghan’s approval of “Please Please Please” before adding, “He does like my music.”
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their opinions on the starlet’s comments about Keoghan.
One user commented. “It’s sweet that she described her decision as ‘not-even-biased,’ indicating she values his skills as an actor alongside their relationship.”

“One of the best music video[s] of the year,” another fan commented alongside the red heart and flame emojis.
The singer-songwriter has been dating Keoghan for almost a year and has attempted to keep the relationship out of the public eye. In May, Keoghan threw his girlfriend a surprise 25th birthday party in Brooklyn, New York. Then, In August, the couple dealt with breakup rumors, but this interview puts any gossip about the relationship being over to rest.
