Andrew Garfield and Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chemistry Is Off the Charts in Chicken Shop Date

Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield regret doing this for the bit.

Reflecting on their viral moment from the 2017 Golden Globes, the actors shared why they regret kissing each other as Ryan Gosling—who bested Reynolds in the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy category that year—accepted his award.

“Last time I saw you was the Golden Globes,” Reynolds explained in the actors’ conversation for Varietys “Actors on Actors” series. “Garfield is sitting beside me and goes, ‘Hey, if they call your name and you win, don’t kiss your wife, just kiss me.’”

Reynolds—who shares kids James, 9, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, born in 2023, with Blake Lively—also joked that the La La Land star shouldn’t have won the category.

“Gosling did not deserve it,” he continued, before clarifying, “I’m actually a nutty fan of his. He of course won for La La Land, as he should. I loved that we were just sitting there and were like, ‘Eh, let’s do it anyways.’”
