ROBERT Irwin’s latest social media post has caused a stir among his fans, who noted the 20-year-old looks much fitter.
The son of late Australian conservationist Steve Irwin, Robert showed off his biceps while wearing a fitted T-shirt in a new Instagram video that left his followers wondering whether he’s been “hitting the gym.”
“Welcome to the first entry into my ‘taking song lyrics literally’ series,” the TV star captioned the Reel, set to Coldplay’s song Green Eyes.
He points to a large rock, as Coldplay’s Chris Martin sings “Honey, you are a rock”, before the clip cuts to Robert standing on top of the rock as the singer continues, “Upon which I stand.”
Reacting to his social media post, Robert’s followers commented on his toned physique, with one person writing, “Stop lifting the whole of Australia, mate.”
“I hope you’ve got a permit for those guns, mate!” Another person jokingly referred to his bicep muscles. “Open carry is illegal in Australia!”

A third comment read, “Damn didn’t realize you had guns!”
Fans expressed their surprise at Robert’s physical transformation, with one person wondering, “Since when are you jacked?”
“My man [is] low key ripped,” a similar comment read.
“Arms like Chris Hemsworth mate,” another fan suggested, comparing Robert to the Australian actor, who played the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor in a number of Marvel movies.
Robert is often compared to his environmentalist father Steve, fondly remembered as the Crocodile Hunter.
The beloved Australian TV personality died on 4 September 2006, after he was fatally pierced in the chest by a short-tail stingray while filming in the Great Barrier Reef.
Robert was two at the time.
In addition to managing the Australia Zoo along with his sister Bindi Irwin, 26, Robert also juggles a TV career and a passion for wildlife photography.
Earlier this year, Robert made his debut as Julia Morris’ co-host on Channel 10’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, the Australian adaptation of the hit British survival reality series.
Robert told Australian news outlet Perth Now he “jumped at the chance” to host the hit TV show, replacing Dr Chris Brown, calling the gig a childhood dream.
Robert, who made a guest appearance on I’m A Celeb! when he was 10, told the outlet, “After I did the show, I looked at that whole big set, and I looked at everything, and I saw Julia and Chris and I thought, ‘One day, imagine hosting this?’
“I remember over the years, I’d had a bit to do with Julia here and there, and it was always in my mind. I became a real fan of the show and enjoyed watching it,” Robert continued.
“So all of those years later, to be asked to be part of this show, it was such a serendipitous full-circle moment,” Robert admitted. “And to be honest, I actually just jumped at the chance – there was no hesitation.”
Shortly after his debut season as I’m A Celeb! co-host was concluded, Channel 10 confirmed that Robert would be returning for the 2025 season amid rumors the show was a “one-off job” for him.
“What a load of croc! We’ve heard a lot of furphys over the past 10 seasons, but media reports about Robert no longer hosting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! take the cake and are completely fake,” a spokesperson for Channel 10 told Daily Mail Australia.
SINGLE AND READY TO MINGLE?
Earlier this year, Robert and his ex-girlfriend Rorie Buckey confirmed they had broken up after nearly two years together.
Rorie, who is late Hollywood star Heath Ledger’s niece, and Robert announced their decision to part ways in a joint Instagram statement in February.
“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths,” their breakup message read.
The daughter of Heath’s sister Kate and Nathan Buckey, Rorie and Robert began dating in November 2022 before going public with their romance on Instagram in August 2023.
Last month, Daily Mail Australia reported that Robert is currently dating Charlotte Briggs, who also works at Australia Zoo.
The pair sparked romance rumors after they were photographed together at Sydney airport, accompanied by Robert’s mother Terri Irwin, in July.
Robert briefly addressed his relationship status during an appearance on The Kyle and Jackie O show, days before he was spotted with Charlotte.
“At the moment I’ve been absolutely flat out,” he said. “Logies and the I’m A Celebrity stuff so it’s been super busy.”
