Actor Rashmika Mandanna, known for her work in Telugu and Tamil cinema, recently sparked online chatter by mistakenly calling Vijay’s Ghilli a remake of Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri. In an interview, she shared her love for Vijay Thalapathy, recalling Ghilli as the first film she watched in a theatre. However, her claim about its origins was quickly corrected by netizens.
Rashmika confidently stated that Ghilli was a remake of Pokiri but later acknowledged her error on social media. Responding to a fan’s question, she humorously clarified, “Sorry, my bad. I realised later that Ghilli is a remake of Okkadu, and Pokkiri is a separate film.” She expressed her admiration for both movies and actors, brushing off the mistake with grace.

In the same interview, Rashmika reminisced about growing up watching Rajinikanth films with her father but credited Vijay and Trisha for being the first actors she saw on screen, which left a lasting impression on her. She fondly mentioned the iconic song Appadi Podu and how it became a favourite performance piece during her childhood.
Rashmika, who made her debut in Kannada films with Kirik Party and later in Telugu and Tamil, has worked alongside top actors like Vijay in Varisu. Recently seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule, she is gearing up for several upcoming projects in Telugu and Hindi, further solidifying her place in Indian cinema.
