Brown suffered a collarbone injury called a sternoclavicular joint dislocation, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

The insider added that it is “in question” whether Brown can be available for the September 5 Chiefs’ season-opener.

After the game, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid compared Brown’s injury to the one Tyreek Hill dealt with in 2019, which was also against the Jaguars.

Hill missed four games with a similar injury before returning just over one month later.

“I think he’ll miss some time. We’ll just see where it’s at, I mean, I said that they’re kind of going through it right now and we’ll know more later on,” Reid said after the game, via NFL.com.

Brown suffered the injury on the first snap of his Chiefs’ preseason debut.

He caught an 11-yard pass from Mahomes before he was tackled to the ground by Jaguars cornerback Montaric Brown.

Brown received medical attention and headed to the locker room afterward.

Last season, Brown recorded 51 receptions for 574 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 14 games for the Arizona Cardinals.

Mahomes’ preseason is likely over as Reid previously revealed he would only play the team’s starters for one quarter.

The three-time MVP went 3-of-4 with 27 yards passing and Isiah Pachedo posted 16 yards on their only drive of the game vs. the Jaguars.

The Chiefs settled for a Harrison Butker field goal as Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the other starters were replaced.

Kansas City will play the Detroit Lions in their second preseason game next weekend.
