Owner Walks Into Kitchen at 1:45 AM to Find ‘Tuxedo Cat Mob’ Demanding Food

A cat owner has left the internet in stitches after sharing a hilarious clip of her felines ganging up together in the middle of the night to demand extra food.

The viral video, shared on TikTok in July under the username @joinrosiesarmy, shows five tuxedo cats, four sitting on the kitchen counter and one on the floor, staring at their owner in the darkness, hoping for a late-night snack.

“FOOD DEMANDS… Of course, it’s 1:45am.” reads layover text on the clip, followed by a caption that says: “CAT HUNGER HAS NO CONCEPT OF TIME…”

It’s natural for cats to be up and active during the night or early hours of the morning as that’s when their ancestors would be hunting for prey. This is scientifically known as crepuscular behavior.

If you are out for work most days and don’t get the chance to spend much time with your cat during the day, they may try to seek your companionship at night, when they see you home, according to VCA Animal Hospitals.

While this is not unusual behavior for cats, you can train them to match your schedule more closely.

“Adjusting the timing of feeding or the type of food may help to alter the cat’s sleep schedule. For example, eating a few hours earlier or later, may help to alter the cat’s schedule just enough that it sleeps through the night,” the vet website states.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.2 million views and 177,900 likes on the platform.

One user, Bridget, commented: “Imagine waking up and you having these lot just staring and judging you.”

MrsBattz45 said: “I died laughing at this! You got the Tuxedo cat Mob living with you! They are standing on business!”

Mandi wrote: “They look like they in the middle of a business meeting with there boss.”

Another user, Madiha Ghani, commented: “They aren’t kidding, they mean SERIOUS BUSINESS. You better get up and feed them.”

Myst/Amy added: “Mine are like this as soon as their flap is open and they’ve been out for a bit (opens just as it’s getting light so they’re not out when it’s dark).”
