NFL bosses have apparently waited until after the presidential election concluded this week to make a punishment decision.

Bosa was fined $11,255 for his actions, it was announced Saturday.

The incident happened after the 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 8.

San Francisco hasn’t played since then having had a bye in Week 9.

Their next game is Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bosa crashed an interview on NBC’s Sunday Night Football which featured his teammates Brock Purdy and George Kittle.

He did so wearing a cap with a message that read, “Make America Great Again.”

The slogan has become a message for Trump’s political campaign.

And a political statement is a direct breach of NFL rules, which left Bosa open to punishment.

According to Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8 of the NFL rulebook, the entire time a player is “visible to the stadium and television audience,” they are “prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.”

The NFL also has a strict policy against political statements.

“The League will not grant permission for any club or player to wear, display, or otherwise convey messages, through helmet decals, arm bands, jersey patches, mouthpieces, or other items affixed to game uniforms or equipment, which relate to political activities or causes, other non-football events, causes or campaigns, or charitable causes or campaigns.”

Speaking earlier this week, Bosa insisted he wasn’t bothered about a potential punishment.

“I haven’t got one (a fine) yet,” he said, “but if it comes, it comes.”

The pass rusher also insisted, “It was well worth it.”

“I don’t think my position on speaking about it’s gonna change.

“Clearly, the nation spoke, and we got what we got.”

His comments this Wednesday were more than he was willing to divulge in his post-game press conference after Dallas.

“I’m not going to talk too much about it,” he said.

“But I think it’s an important time.”

Trump beat Kamala Harris in the presidential election Tuesday and will take up his second term in the White House in January.
