In a recent chat, director Nag Ashwin shared surprising details about Amitabh Bachchan’s admiration for Prabhas during the filming of Kalki 2898 AD. Ashwin recounted, “Prabhas garu is a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan, and he was overwhelmed. He was there when we shot the first scene of Ashwatthama, and after giving the clap, he stood in the background saying, ‘I can’t believe this man is on set, I can’t believe I am going to act with him.’” Despite Prabhas’s humility, his awe was palpable.
Ashwin revealed that Bachchan was equally thrilled, saying, “Can you believe it is the Baahubali? Your fans are going to be so angry because Nagi is making me hit you. What is going on?” Bachchan’s excitement was evident, even calling Prabhas after watching Salaar-Part 1 to express his admiration.
The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan, has been a major hit, earning over Rs 1100 crores worldwide. Ashwin confirmed a sequel is underway.
