NBA legend Michael Jordan is planning to invest massive money into a luxury French Riviera property, The U.S Sun understands.
The six-time NBA champion and billionaire has viewed six stunning properties with a combined worth of $64 million along the Mediterranean coastline in the southeast of France.
Those included two luxurious $10 million and $13 million pads with stunning views of the Bay of St.Tropez.
The first has an expansive garden, modern rooms and is less than half a mile from the seaside.
The second offers a Japanese garden with an infinity pool, described as a ” haven of peace.”
Nestled in the hills of Mont Gros, on the outskirts of Nice, the French Riviera’s largest town, Jordan, 61, took a look at a sumptuous 30-room, 14-bedroom mansion worth a whopping $14.3 million, originating from the 19th century in Côte d’Azur.
Defined as a “Gem of Belle Époque architecture.” the villa is listed as a historical monument. The sprawling property has an incredible five-floor view of Baie de Anges, one of Nice’s most beautiful panoramas.
The former Chicago Bulls superstar and businessman also checked out a $10 million modern property in Le Cannet with Californian-style architecture.
Located in the Heights of Cannes, the property is in the middle of the hills but less than 10 minutes away from La Croisette, the city’s most famous beach, known for its glamour and luxurious movie festival.
Jordan also toured two other properties: a modern villa in Grasse worth $9.7 million and a traditional Provençal Bastide, with stunning views on both the sea and the hinterland, an extended garden, and olive trees.
The 61-year-old sporting legend’s final stop was a super plush pad in Mougins, valued around $6.4 million. It is located in a very quiet and rural area known for its 10th-century local chapels, 10 miles from Cannes.
Jordan, one of the first former athletes to become a billionaire, has a fortune worth around $3 billion. The successful entrepreneur only recently relinquished control of the Charlotte Hornets, which he sold for more than $2 billion in 2023.
He is also the head of the Jordan brand and has made successful investments in other sports, including a NASCAR team and 23XI racing.
Jordan, who holidays in the area and knows it well, made apparent requests to a luxury real estate consultant operating in the French region, who spoke to The U.S Sun on the condition of anonymity.
According to the insider, MJ requested the viewings to take place during a vacation with family and friends, which took him along the coast for a stop in the tax haven, home of the rich in luxurious Monaco.
“Mr Jordan and his family love this area, especially the weather,” the source said.
“The requests were pretty clear: spacious places where they can enjoy being in a family or having friends over to relax and have a good time.”
Michael won’t be around too many people here. He can relax, drive around, and enjoy the scenery.
A source told The U.S. Sun
The insider knows that Jordan is “obsessed with the region, and he loves the way people live and enjoy life, in a much slower pace than in America” after visiting the residences.
“There are a lot of tranquil and nice spots in the French Riviera where you can live your life without being bothered and being surrounded by too many people, as he is looking for peace and a calm place,” the source explained.
“He loved all the suggested properties and is excited to invest in the region and get another vacation house in one of the best areas to live in the world.”
The insider says Jordan loves the way of life in France and the privacy and solitude it offers.
“Michael won’t be around too many people here,” the real estate consultant added.
“He can relax, drive around, and enjoy the scenery.”
