WEST BROM’S clash at Luton was suspended for several minutes following a medical emergency in the crowd.
The Championship game was goalless and approaching the half hour mark when the incident took place at Kenilworth Road.
Play resumed after the medical team attended to the fan in the away end of the ground.
West Brom tweeted: “There’s a stoppage as medics attend to an incident in the away end.”
Moments later, they added: “Play is back underway at Kenilworth Road.
“Our best wishes go to Baggies fan involved.”
While Luton said: “Best wishes to the Baggies fan.”
Luton have endured a difficult start to life back in the Championship after suffering Premier League relegation last season.
Rob Edwards’ side went into the West Brom clash in the relegation zone having won just three of 12 league games.
Meanwhile, Carlos Corberan’s men are challenging at the other end of the table.
West Brom went to Luton in fifth place knowing a win would take them level on points with Burnley in second.
They were last in the top flight in the 2020/21 campaign when they were relegated after winning only five games and picking up just 26 points.
