THE Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly decided on Bronny James’ status for the team’s season-opener versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The 20-year-old Bronny played alongside his dad LeBron James in a preseason game last week.
ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania appeared on Get Up! and discussed LeBron and Bronny.
The father-son duo played with each other in the Lakers’ preseason game last weekend.
Charania revealed that the Lakers are expected to play LeBron and Bronny together in the team’s season opener.
“We’re going to be seeing history very, very soon,” Charania reported.

“The expectation on the Lakers is that their debut together, the first father-son duo in the NBA history to play at the same time in a game, will be as soon as opening night.”
The potential Bronny decision by the Lakers comes after the USC product’s disappointing play in the Summer League and the preseason.
Most recently, he played with LeBron during the Lakers preseason game against the Phoenix Suns.
It was the first time that a father-son duo played alongside each other in NBA history.
However, Bronny missed a three-pointer and committed an offensive foul before getting called for a traveling violation.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick then subbed him out with less than eight minutes left in the third quarter.
Still, it might be smart for the team to play Bronny with LeBron in the first game of the season to get the distraction and media attention of the two playing together out of the way.
The Lakers could then place Bronny in the G-League where the guard can develop his skills.
There is concern that he isn’t ready to play in the NBA.
Bronny averaged less than five points per game, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 rebounds per contest during his freshman year at USC.
And he is a year removed from suffering a cardiac arrest during an offseason workout with the collegiate squad.
Still, LeBron can’t believe that he played alongside Bronny last weekend.
“Not real,” James said. “We’ll kind of get used to it, but it’s pretty cool.
“It’s pretty cool for the both of us, and especially for our family. It’s definitely a moment that I will never forget.”
Los Angeles has four more preseason games before their season-opener with the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 22.
