The 2024 Paris Olympics have come and gone, and it was yet another for the ages. The United States won the most medals in the Olympics, 126. Forty of them were gold, 44 were silver, and 42 were bronze.

The Americans became the first country to win more than 3,000 Olympic medals during the 2024 Summer Games, earning more medals in Paris than in the Tokyo Games in 2021.
The United States dominated many of the major sports in the summer game, including track and field. Track and field had a ton of eyes on it, especially when it came to U.S. track star Noah Lyles. Lyles has been public enemy No. 1 for many basketball and football fans due to his “world champions” comments.
Although many Americans were rooting for their home country, the opposite was in effect for New York Knicks guard Josh Hart. In a recent podcast episode of Roommate Shows with fellow Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Hart admitted that he wanted Lyles to lose at the Olympics.
“I really wanted him [Lyles] to lose. Damn, I wanted him to lose boy. I think this was the first time all of NBA Twitter banded together and was just hating. I was just hating, and I’m just like, damn, you know what, respect. I can’t even hate anymore.”
Lyles took home the gold medal for the Men’s 100m and the bronze for the Men’s 200m.
The 27-year-old has been under attack for the past handful of months, and Hart wanted to join the hate Lyles has received lately. Brunson pleaded for Hart not to continue his statement until he gave in and let Hart speak his mind.
Hart isn’t the only one joining the Lyles hate tour. Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill joined in last week, telling media personality Kay Adams that he could beat Lyles in a race and talking smack about the gold medal winner.
Hart and the Knicks will now seek to reach the mountain top in the upcoming NBA season. The Knicks are among the favorites to win their first NBA title since 1973. It’s been a long time coming for New York, and they hope they can finally get the job done.
Hart has and will continue playing a pivotal role for the Knickerbockers with his toughness, competitiveness, and ability to do the little things needed to win a championship. The 29-year-old averaged 9.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting 43.3 percent from the field last season.
