Kelly Ripa had heads turning when she shared a photo of an unexpected piece of decor in her New York City home.
Fans who caught the episode of Live With Kelly and Mark on Wednesday, November 6, may recall a conversation where Kelly, 54, said that she received a strange piece of decor from a pal.
“Today, on my social media, I will — maybe I’ll post a photograph of a very inflammatory phrase that my girlfriend gave to me that’s embroidered,” the All My Children actress explained.
“I have it above the toilet because it says something so rotten, but so accurate that we all need it,” she added. “We all need to have this hanging over our toilets. It’s a gentle reminder to put the toilet seat down, but it uses language that is so foul and so vile, but like with beautiful embroidery and hearts around it, that it’s a real showstopper.”
Just as promised, Kelly posted a photo of the decor in question in her Instagram Stories later that day. It turns out, it was an embroidered sign that said “Put the seat down you f–ker.”
It’s not the first time the TV star has shared a glimpse at some of the items in her home, in which she shares with husband Mark Consuelos. Their kids, Michael, Lola and Joaquin, have all moved out of the house as they have pursued higher education and kickstarted their careers.
Their 7,796 square-foot mansion is full of fabulous touches, including pillows in their bedroom that feature embroidery that says “I want to be where the people aren’t.” With five-bedrooms and six-bathrooms, there’s plenty of space in Kelly and Mark’s home to express their creativity.
Just recently, Kelly made a big announcement about Live moving to a new location, which will be further away from her home.
“But that’s not going to happen for some time, and I still don’t believe it’s going to happen,” she said of the show’s move during an episode in October. “Anyway, I don’t believe it’s happening. But anyway, we’re moving down to this fancy schmancy state of the art studio in SoHo.”
“SoHo where we used to live, which would have been convenient for us,” she further explained the the audience. “But as soon as we move to the Upper East Side, now we want to move to SoHo. OK, whatever!”
After making the comments about her unique home decor on Live on Wednesday, Kelly was spotted out for a stroll in the Big Apple later that day. In the photos obtained by Daily Mail, Kelly wore a large hat to go incognito while walking in the busy city. She paired the accessory with blue leggings, a blue sweatshirt, white sneakers and a silver puffer vest.
Taking walks around their neighborhood and Central Park is something Kelly and Mark enjoy very much. However, she recently admitted that things about their daily routines were changing amid football season.
“So as soon as we leave and we get into Central Park, he tells me ‘Listen so I’m just going to walk with you for 25 minutes and then I’m going to turn around and then go back and you can finish out the walk by yourself because I have to get home to the game,’” Kelly said during a September episode of Live.
“I am immediately enraged,” Kelly admitted. “I am put into a march, like I am pacing myself. I could have theoretically been jogging, that’s how fast I was going. And then he says ‘Can we slow down a bit?’”
