Hollywood actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known for his eclectic filmography, recently expressed admiration for Alia Bhatt’s performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi during the 14th season of IFP Fest in Mumbai. Gordon-Levitt, attending the festival for the first time, shared his thoughts in conversation with Rajkummar Rao, describing the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial as “beautiful and unique.”
The actor went on to compare the film to the works of Martin Scorsese, noting its striking cinematography and heavy drama. “It’s gorgeous and felt like a Scorsese movie at times,” he remarked. Gordon-Levitt confessed that the film deepened his interest in Indian cinema and that the genuine love for movies in India inspired his desire to make a film in the country someday.
