John Mulaney is coming back to Netflix with another talk show.
This comes after the run of Everybody’s In LA, Mulaney’s slightly chaotic show that was centered around the Netflix is a Joke festival.
Mulaney, while promoting the show on the FYC circuit, said that Everybody’s In LA “can’t get renewed”, but it turns out he’s something that sounds remarkably similar.
Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria revealed that Netflix was making a live variety talk show with the former SNL star on stage at the Bloomberg Screentime conference.
She said that the company had a “long relationship” with Mulaney and called Everybody’s In LA “bold, original and fresh”.
“I think it’ll be really fun to get to do a live show,” she said. “I’m excited about pushing into another area.”
It’s not clear who is producing the show but Everybody’s In LA was produced by Mulaney’s Multiple Camera Productions and was co-showrunner alongside Ashley Edens.
Netflix has previously struggled in the talk show space with series from the likes of Chelsea Handler and Hasan Minhaj. Other live series on Netflix include Dinner Time Live with David Chang.
