2025 is set to be a special year for WWE and professional wrestling as a whole because it will officially be John Cena’s last year in the ring.
The Leader of the Cenation announced that he would retire after spending all of the next year as a full-time wrestler with the company that made him a household name.

This news has fans speculating who exactly Cena will face over his final days as a wrestler with many people wanting to see him fight Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Gunther, and more.
However, recent reports suggest that Cena could be facing off against one of the more divisive names on the roster.
According to Viper Reports of PW Nexus, Cena having a match against Logan Paul is “100 percent on the table to happen in 2025 and is certainly an option for WrestleMania 41 in [Las] Vegas.”
“I expect the match to happen in 2025, I know Logan wants it,” Viper said. “Multiple [Premium Live Events] in the year where this match could feature, of course [WrestleMania] is an option – but this is NOT considered locked in to be taking place in Vegas as of today.”
While Cena vs. Paul would certainly be a big money match, the potential of it happening at WrestleMania 41 has proven controversial among fans.
This not only stems from disdain for the influencer-turned-pro-wrestler but also for fans who want to see Cena fight for another world title.
Across his decorated career, Cena has held 16 world championships across his career, tying Ric Flair for the most world titles. If Triple H and WWE want him to break that record, this would be the time to do it.

Then again, it could serve as a time to establish a younger wrestler who could justifiably be moved into the main event scene.
While Paul has been in main event matches and even fought for the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, he has never seemed like an actual threat.
If Paul were to defeat Cena, then he would not only become one of the biggest heels in the company but he would also be perceived as a much more dangerous wrestler.

That being said, the argument comes up whether that match has to happen at the most important PLE of the year.
Honestly, Paul vs. Cena seems like the perfect match to happen at Crown Jewel or SummerSlam if they want it to seem more significant.
