Jason Kelce has took it upon himself to settle the debate surrounding reclining passenger seats on airplanes.
Older brother to Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles football player recently received a fan request on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, asking him to answer a list of burning questions.
It is Kelce’s firm belief that flight duration must be part of your thinking, as well as the height of the individual sitting directly behind you.

Thirsty for a fresh perspective, @kittygang_4ever – user ‘MGD’ – reached out to the 36-year-old sports star with this message: “Can Jason Kelce come online and start a heated debate or something? Should toilet paper be hung over or under? Should schools have uniforms? Do you wet your toothbrush before or after you put tooth paste on it? Is it acceptable to recline your seat when you’re on an airplane?!”
Kelce obligingly revealed how, at least in his mind, seat reclining “comes down to multiple factors.”
“How long the flight is, how tired I am, if my back hurts, or if I am utilizing my tray table. Also, how tall is the person behind me, if their knees are in the back of my chair, I’ll try not to, if they are short, I’m reclining mid takeoff,” he shared, welcoming over 348,000 comment views and 3,700 likes in the process.
His recliner insight was of particular interest to broadcaster Mike Golic Jr, who replied: “Greatly appreciate the nuanced airline reclining take. You mentioned the biggest factor which is awareness of your fellow passengers. Few things I appreciate more than a good airport/in-flight teammate.”

Meanwhile, toilet paper positioning “absolutely matters” to Kelce.
“There’s only one way that is correct, and everyone knows which way that is. It’s so universal, that I don’t even have to explain it, you all know exactly which way I’m talking about,” he wrote on October 11, before going on to admit that he leans toward no uniforms at school—preferring “individuality to adherence.”
As for the toothbrush problem, he sides with pre-wetting in order to moisten the bristles and produce a “far superior” overall feel in the mouth.
Earlier this month, Kelce made waves by announcing an out-of-the-blue Christmas collaboration with Stevie Nicks.
On Wednesday, October 2, the Kelce brothers’ podcast New Heights published a photo on social media of Jason alongside the Fleetwood Mac icon, captioned: “The crossover we didn’t know we needed. Coming soon to a Christmas album near you.”
Users @icourtneycries and @KelleeMood flocked to the comment section, with excited reactions reading “god, i hope no one heard the sound i just made in this office” and “What??? I love this so much! Jason, you are on an EPIC run here! How cool is it to be on a Christmas album with the one and only Stevie Nicks?!”
