DETROIT Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams will likely receive yet another NFL punishment after a gesture during a touchdown celebration.
The Lions destroyed the Jacksonville Jaguars, 52-6, in their Week 11 home contest.
During the third quarter, the 2022 first-round pick Williams caught a pass from quarterback Jared Goff near midfield and used his speed to run past a few Jaguars defenders.
The 23-year-old recorded a 64-yard touchdown, but not before revealing an NSFW celebration.
Before reaching the endzone, Williams jumped in the air, turned toward the Jaguars’ defenders, and grabbed his groin.
The gesture paid homage to NFL legend Marshawn Lynch, who first made the celebration.
However, Williams will likely be hit with a fine due to the gesture as Lynch often did during his playing days.
It won’t be Williams’s first punishment, as he has been in trouble during his three years in the NFL.
He served a three-game suspension in 2023 for violating the NFL’s gambling policy.
This season, Williams received a two-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy.
Through eight games, he has 538 receiving yards on 24 receptions, with an average of 22.4 yards per catch.
Williams has contributed to the Lions’ dominating start to the year.
Detroit has ranked second in the NFL in points per game (31.6) entering Week 11.
They are 9-1 through 10 games after they dismantled the Jaguars.
Goff passed for 412 yards and four touchdown passes in the victory.
Two of the touchdown passes went to star Amon-Ra St. Brown, who had 11 receptions for 161 yards.
Williams finished with four receptions for 124 yards.
The Lions totaled 196 rushing yards as a team.
David Montgomery posted 75 rushing yards and scored on the ground twice.
Jahmyr Gibbs recorded 69 yards on 11 carries and scored a touchdown.
The Jaguars moved to 2-9 for the season with the loss.
Detroit will face the 5-6 Indianapolis Colts in Week 12.
