Although the guru, Dr Shammi Theesan, was once sceptical about reversing the signs of ageing, she recently revealed how to take years off your face without touching a needle.

It’s not just the wrinkles and fine lines many of us may want to banish, the Aussie pro said in That Beauty podcast.

”They want their wrinkles minimised. But they really want that sag under their jawline improved, they want the light and the reflection on their skin getting better and they just want to look youthful – which is that beautiful oval shape, having the fat pads in the right area.

”Your skin not being inflamed or having those age spots or sun spots, or pigmentation.”

Anti-ageing is ”tricky”, she said, as there are ”so many things to work on” to achieve a youthful and healthy glow.

But it possible to reverse ageing? According to the beauty expert, it’s good news.

”Yes, you can actually turn back the time with skin treatments, which is kind of new, I would say.

”Like, if you asked me this five years ago, I would’ve said ‘Sorry, the damage is kind of done now and I can certainly make it not worse’.”

Although treatments will be the ones doing most of the work, your diet, lifestyle and topicals are just as essential.

”What happens with ageing is that mitochondria (an organelle found in the cells of most eukaryotes, such as animals, plants and fungi) get overwhelmed, they’re less good at producing energy, they get a bit faulty.”

Luckily, there is potential to reverse this – and it all starts in your kitchen, the dermatologist said.

”Our skin actually has the capability to renew itself by removing cellular debris, its garbage – it’s almost like this detox of each cell.

”That is done with numerous things, like intermittent fasting; time interval eating where you try to eat within a certain period, like eight hours, six hours.

”That fasting period before that really does your cellular renewal – so that’s why I think you can actually turn back ageing.”

Another thing worth incorporating in your lifestyle is something called protein cycling, where you consume a heavier protein diet one day and then less the next.

How to reverse ageing in just 2 weeks, according to royal go-to nutritionist

LONDON -based Gabriela Peacock, who has helped the likes of Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie prepare for their weddings.

She told Fabulous: “The science is evident that we all have the power to make simple life changing alterations to better our future selves – no matter what genetic hand we might have been dealt with.

“The reality is, we all sometimes indulge in unhealthy eating habits like processed foods, smoking cigarettes, drinking too much alcohol, inhaling city pollutants, and even drinking water from plastic bottles – none of this is good for us.

“All this does is promote the ageing process, but we all have the potential to change this.”

It may be hard, but try to keep away from sugary carbohydrates, because they feed chronic inflammation, which is one of the worst enemies of reversing ageing.

Now only will you end up putting on weight if you consume them regularly, but your energy and hormonal levels will be affected and this will influence how you look and feel.

Whatever your age or state of health, it’s never too late to reverse how quickly you are ageing and embrace the energy and vigour of a younger you.

Antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E, are essential in neutralising free radicals—the culprits behind premature ageing.

Integrating a spectrum of colourful fruits and vegetables into your diet provides a potent source of antioxidants.

Omega-3 fatty acids, abundant in fatty fish like salmon and flaxseeds, are vital for maintaining skin elasticity and hydration.

Omega-3s act as nourishment for your skin, locking in moisture and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

Collagen, a structural protein dwindling with age, can be replenished through collagen-rich foods like bone broth and lean protein sources.

”Carb cycling, restricting your carbohydrates, having a more ketogenic diet, when to exercise – we’re getting really aware how to anti-age our cells.”

Although eating wholegrain foods is certainly good for nourishing your body, the Aussie pro advised to shift your focus towards healthy fats, such as avocado and olive oil.

”Some people actually get inflammation when they eat whole grains cause there’s something called lectin inflammation – so you’re better off eating vegetables that are coloured – kale, red cabbage.

”Getting the fibre-rich vegetables as your main carbohydrate source, as opposed to almost wasting your carbohydrates on wholegrains.

”Sure, it’s better than refined sugar and refined flour but we really have to watch how we consume our carbohydrates and our proteins, and our fats.”
