A SKINCARE fan has shared a technique that makes her skin glow.
She added that the skincare trick went a long way to keep her looking youthful.
Redditor Frostyarn shared the anti-aging tip in a post.
She revealed that she gently shaves her face using a technique called dermaplaning.
“I dermaplane once a week with oil; there’s great YouTube tutorials,” she said.
The trick, she explained, helps exfoliate her skin and make her skincare routine more effective.
“The top layer of skin and hair being gone allows my serums and moisturizers to sink in more, and my skin looks glowing, like a pearl,” she said.
Not only that, but the technique doubled as a skincare treatment and makeup enhancer.
“Just turned 40! I look maybe 30-ish. I swear photos of me at 25-30 when I was using 99-cent store shampoo on my face (cringe) and cheap lotion on my face make me look older than now. Dermaplaning makes me look like I just got a facial,” she said.
“The cheapest foundation looks like high-end when the moisture barrier is restored and dead skin shaved off.”

Her go-to oil for dermaplaning is the Darphane Essential Oil Elixir.
She added that most oils worked for the trick.
“It’s mostly oil samples I get with beauty purchases,” she said.
For beginners to the method, she recommended shaving for the first time in front of a mirror.
She explained that having sight of where you’re shaving is helpful to prevent accidents.
“I tried once [in the shower] and nearly took an eyebrow off,” she said.
“Plus, the hot, wet, steamy makes holding the skin taught while carefully shaving pretty hard.
“Plus, you wanna be right up in the mirror.”
After her regular dermaplaning routine, her go-to skincare and makeup keeps her grounded.
She added that her tried-and-true favorites were Bobbi Brown’s vitamin-enriched face base and Nars’ Light Reflecting Foundation.
A trick, she revealed, is mixing the foundation with Natasha Denona’s Skinglass serum.
“I look like a walking catfish filter,” she joked.
