ICE Spice has been criticized for playing commercials on repeat at her tour performances.
Ice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, is currently on her Y2K! World Tour supporting the release of her debut studio album on July 26.
Footage from one of the 24-year-old rapper’s recent shows went viral on TikTok, as fans questioned why the performance began with a series of advertisements, including a commercial for a lash brand.
The TikTok clip was later shared on a Reddit forum for concerts and festivals, with the caption, “People are reporting that she played ads for about two hours before the concert.”
“Gotta pad it out when you have like five songs,” one critical Reddit user replied.
Another person said, “Literal sell-out.”
“I already hate ads before movies (not the trailers obviously), but this is just ridiculous,” a third comment read.
“With concert tickets already incredibly pricey, having to endure the same 4 f***ing ads for hours is downright disrespectful,” the user continued. “Hopefully it won’t turn into something common.”
“That’s so cheesy,” another comment read. “I would’ve walked out.”
While some questioned whether this was a standard practice, others recalled how artists like Shakira, Depeche Mode, Beyoncé, and The Spice Girls have also played ads at their concerts.

“Shakira did this in 2011! Two hours of the same two Garnier ads,” one user said. “I can’t even look at the brand anymore.”
Those that endured the ads at Ice’s shows took to X to share their experiences, revealing that a Juicy Couture commercial and the trailer for the movie Trap were also played before she came on-stage.
“I went to the ice spice show yesterday and the weirdest part for me were the ads and movie trailers that played before her performance,” one person wrote.
Another said, “trap ad at a concert….at an ice spice concert…can we be serious???? [crying emoji].”
Trap is director M. Night Shyamalan’s latest movie, starring Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, and the filmmaker’s daughter Saleka.
A third X user quipped there’s something about “ice spice showing ads before her concerts” that “tickles me so bad.”
Ice Spice dating history
Ice Spice, 24, is still a relatively new artist, but she has been linked to some big names. Find out who the rapper has dated as rumors fuel that she and Central Cee are a couple.
Drake – Canadian rapper – The two were spotted at OVO Fest in Toronto in August 2022, but rumors were shut down when Drake unfollowed her on Instagram following their meeting.
Caleb McLaughlin – Stranger Things star- they were spotted together at an event hosted by Cardi B and Offset in September 2022. It is unclear when they broke up, but they still follow each other on Instagram.
Jason Cid (King Cid) – YouTuber – dated 2024. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Ice confirmed she was “currently dating someone,” but she kept it under wraps. King and Ice were photographed cuddling up to each other.
Central Cee – rapper, rumored to be dating in July 2024. Central left a flirty comment on Ice’s Instagram post where she was twerking in a tiny dress.
The discussion about whether artists should allow commercials at their shows continued on a different Reddit channel.
One person predicted, “Soon it’s gonna be a flex in debates on what band/artist in [sic] better if they don’t play ads in the middle of their f***ing concerts.”
Last month, Ice confirmed her relationship with fellow rapper Central Cee is strictly platonic after a cheating scandal erupted around the musicians.
‘AIN’T TRIPPIN’
Ice and the BAND4BAND hitmaker were first linked together following the release of their song Did It First that features on Y2K!.
Romance rumors continued to swirl after they were driving around Central’s Lamborghini through London, England.
A sighting of the pair inside the jewelry store Chrome Hearts added fuel to the fire, before Central’s ex-girlfriend Madeline Argy alleged she was still dating the British rapper when he was spotted with Ice.
“I didn’t even actually get to break up with him, and he’s already with the next girl,” Madeline said in a video posted on TikTok.
Just hours later, Ice appeared to hit back at Madeline’s claims, as she shared a photo of her posing with Central.
“Ain’t trippin da grip in my purse,” she captioned the picture.
