He broke down each step of setting up the business as well as his price model.

“I put up a Facebook Marketplace listing saying that we’re selling Christmas trees with free delivery and I sell them for $100,” he said.

Jordan explained that he would go to his local Home Depot and pick up trees for $60 each.

He then dropped off the trees, collecting his $100 from each customer.

As well as pocketing the $40 profit, he revealed that a lot of people forked out even more if he went the extra mile.

“People are giving me tips like crazy because we set them up in their house,” he explained.

Jordan also makes an effort to clean up any pine needles after setting up the trees.

He revealed that on the day of the interview a woman had tipped him $70 for his services.

The host of the podcast described the side hustle as “fire” and called it a “solid scheme.”

Listeners shared their thoughts on the business in the comments section.

“They ain’t buying trees, they’re buying convenience,” wrote one viewer.

Side hustles and tax implications

Extra income you make from side hustles may need to be reported to the IRS.

If you receive more than $600 in gross payouts from a selling platform like eBay, the site will issue you a Form 1099-K to use in your tax return.

Individuals should calculate their adjusted gross income, taxable earnings, and deductions for the year.

Once they have that, they can use the 1040-ES form to calculate estimated taxes.

“As far as TikTok business ideas, this is the most legitimate I’ve seen.” said another person.

“He can pick them up afterwards for another $50 to $60 too,” suggested one commenter.

“Think smarter. Find the Christmas tree farmer and buy trees for $20,” said another follower.

“This is amazing, he found the gap and he filled it,” pointed out one listener.

“Dress up like Santa! You’ll likely get more tips [and] it’s making a whole experience for the kids,” suggested another TikTok user.
