The Boston Red Sox arrived at the Winter Meetings ready to make a splash. That’s still the case, even with Juan Soto off the board.
Several teams, such as the Red Sox, have impact additions to seek with major roster improvements on the mind heading to the Winter Meetings in Dallas.
NESN’s Tom Caron joined George Balekji and Travis Thomas on “Boston Has Entered The Chat” to preview the week in Dallas.
“This could be a really newsworthy Winter Meetings,” Caron said. “The last few years have been boring. Remember last year, (Jordan) Montgomery and (Blake) Snell dragged into February. Forget about the Winter Meetings. You don’t have to get anything done here. There’s no deadline to win the Winter Meetings. … Suddenly, $300 million for Corbin Burnes doesn’t sound so bad because you were going to spend $700 million yesterday. I think there’s going to be a lot of activity. A lot of teams are going to pivot to Plan B as soon as the Soto announcement comes.”
