Clark, who signed a new contract with the network in February, turned up at ESPN’s New York studios in a stunning bright yellow outfit.

The look was completed with a pair of boat shoes and a yellow pocket square.

Clark’s look proved divisive among ESPN’s viewers who weren’t afraid to share their opinions on X.

“He’s dressed like Dr. Evil,” one viewer said.

“RC with this yellow on. My goodness that man,” a second commented along with a loved-up emoji.

“Ryan Clark is dressed like he’s from one of those s**t starting planets on Star Trek,” claimed another.

“Ryan Clark is dressed like an extra on Marvel’s Dr Strange,” added a fourth.

While SportsCenter anchor Kevin Negandhi tweeted, “My guy @Realrclark25 is dressed like he’s ready to take over an Indian wedding and then own the reception on the dance floor.

“I need that outfit for Diwali bro.”

With the NFL season now officially underway, following the Kansas City Chiefs’ 27-20 win against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, football was the main focus during Friday’s episode of First Take.

While on the show, Clark provided what was arguably one of the more bold takes of the day when previewing Sunday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Cleveland Browns.

Clark claimed that he felt Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson enters the season under more pressure than Dak Prescott of the Cowboys – despite this being a contract year for the latter.

“If [the Browns] don’t make it to the playoffs, only one thing about the team is different: The quarterback,” he noted.

Clark was referring to Cleveland’s run to the postseason in 2023, led by quarterback Joe Flacco who was filling in for Watson (injured) and his backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson (concussion).

Flacco wound up going 4-1 in the regular season, passing for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, for which he was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

The Browns would then lose 45-14 to the Houston Texans in the Wildcard Round.

“If Deshaun Watson is half of what we saw him be at one point, this team’s a Playoff team,” Clark said.

“And if he can’t be that, he shouldn’t be in the league. And that’s where we are right now with Deshaun Watson.”

The former Texans quarterback is entering his third season with the Browns, following his blockbuster trade in 2022.

Watson has been limited to just 12 games for Cleveland to date, going 8-4 and passing for 2,217 yards, 14 touchdowns, and nine picks.

He is set to earn almost $28 million this season alone, having signed a five-year $230 million deal with the Browns after the aforementioned trade.

Watson’s first opportunity to silence the critics will be against Dallas starting at 4:35pm ET on Sunday.

The game will be broadcast by Fox, with NFL icon Tom Brady in the booth for the first time.

It will also be available via subscription-based services Fubo, NFL+, YouTube TV, and Sunday Ticket.
